At Adyen, we engineer for ambition. Our Application Engineering team builds, runs, and automates core platforms used daily, such as the Atlassian suite, Slack Enterprise Grid, Google Workspace, and Zoom.
As a Senior Manager, Application Engineering, you will lead a team of 11+ engineers, own the platform roadmap, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Strategy & Roadmapping: Establish the team's short- and medium-term vision, synthesizing requests and balancing priorities.
- Project Delivery: Guide projects end-to-end, establishing clear milestones, ownership, and risk management.
- Platform Operations: Coordinate tool launches, migrations, and platform enhancements across a global workforce.
- Governance & Reliability: Maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable SaaS ecosystem.
- Automation & AI Innovation: Champion the team's automation and AI roadmap.
- Vendor Partnerships: Oversee SaaS vendor relationships and contract renewals.
- People Leadership: Mentor, support, and grow a team of Enterprise Applications Engineers.
- Team Growth: Lead hiring initiatives and shape team organization and capabilities.
- Operational Excellence: Set and sustain standards for documentation and operational hygiene.
- Technical Guidance: Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and integration designs.
Who You Are
- Proven Leadership: Demonstrated background leading engineering teams focused on internal tooling or enterprise applications.
- Execution & Delivery: Skilled in complex project management.
- SaaS Domain Expertise: Practical experience operating and scaling enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Technical Foundation: Solid architectural understanding of productivity and enterprise platforms.
- Pragmatic AI Adoption: Familiarity with implementing internal AI/LLM-enabled workflows.
- Security Awareness: A security-first mindset with familiarity handling identity and access management.
- Collaborative Communication: Clear, empathetic communication style across all levels.
