Description
The ProCOM team at Mastercard is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help solve problems, build the CI/CD pipeline, and lead DevOps automation and best practices.
The ideal candidate will engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services,from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement. They will analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns. The engineer will also support services before they go live, maintain services once they are live, and scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing ITSM activities and providing feedback to development teams
- Supporting services before they go live through system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews
- Maintaining services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
- Scaling systems sustainably through automation
- Leading Mastercard in DevOps automation and best practices
- Practicing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
- Working with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones
For team members supporting the DevOps pipeline, responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and enhancing deployment automation based on Chef
- Using Jenkins to orchestrate builds and link to Sonar, Chef, Maven, Artifactory, etc.
- Supporting deployments of code into multiple lower environments
- Designing and implementing a Git-based code management strategy
The successful candidate will have:
- A BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design
- A systematic problem-solving approach and strong communication skills
- Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby
- An interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
- Experience with industry-standard CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef
