We are seeking a Devops Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence.
As a Devops Engineer at Barclays, you will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organisation's technology communities.
- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Requirements
- Experience with cloud technologies – AWS, Kubernetes, Docker.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform / Cloud Formation.
- Hands-on experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, Maven.
- Knowledge of Helm charts and GitOps-based deployment models.
- Strong scripting and automation skills like Python, Bash or Go.
- Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as ESaaS, Observe, Grafana etc.
- Understanding of building secure, scalable, and reliable platforms in an enterprise environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Ansible.
