Description
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Associate Trader to join our CMO Derivatives trading desk. The role provides hands-on exposure to mortgage derivatives markets, trade execution, relative value analysis, risk management, and desk strategy development. You will work closely with senior traders to support daily trading activities and contribute to idea generation and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support trade execution, risk management, P&L reporting for the CMO Derivatives desk.
- Analyze market trends, prepayment dynamics, customers flows and relative value opportunities.
- Develop and maintain trading tools, analytics, and process automation using Python and Excel/VBA.
- Partner with risk, operations, technology, and compliance teams to support efficient desk operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field with strong academic performance.
- Proficient experience in securitized products, fixed income, or a related analytical role.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an interest in mortgage markets.
- Familiarity with Python and Excel/VBA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
