Description
We are seeking an experienced Chief Investment Officer to join our International Wealth and Premier Banking team in Kuala Lumpur.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing successful onshore investment strategies and thematic ideas across all asset classes for Malaysia onshore clients of Premier Elite & Premier Wealth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing Malaysia onshore investment strategies, asset allocation guidance, and thematic ideas across asset classes for Premier Elite and Premier Wealth clients.
- Contributing to the global/regional investment process to formulate value-adding portfolio strategies and commercially viable High Conviction Themes.
- Delivering frontline training on asset allocation and portfolio-based approach to strengthen investment advisory quality and consistency.
- Driving cross-asset collaboration with Wealth Product teams to steer onshore product fulfilment planning and tactical investment idea generation.
- Identifying best-in-class investment products to implement multi-asset allocation, investment themes, and other tactical ideas for Malaysian onshore clients.
- Monitoring investment performance of products used for asset allocation, themes, and tactical ideas.
- Leading onshore investment content creation by leveraging Global/Asia CIO content and Global Investment Research.
- Communicating CIO House View and High Conviction Themes effectively through onshore investment outlook events, client events, and 1:1 client meetings.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in portfolio strategy, investment research, asset allocation, and product selection within wealth management/private banking.
- Strong cross-asset market knowledge and ability to translate macro/thematic views into actionable portfolio guidance and implementable ideas.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and excellent presentation and writing skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).
- University degree in a relevant discipline; CFA or related professional qualifications are strongly preferred.
