Description
We are seeking a Front-end Software Engineer who is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge open source frameworks and emerging technologies to drive a major transformation across Capital One.
You will be responsible for increasing the reach of Capital One Shopping via SEO, AEO, and GEO. You will design and build high-performance, highly optimized front-end code and smart front-end architectures that serve as the basis for both an amazing user experience and improved visibility in search ranking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with Software Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to deliver high-performing, quality features for 100M+ customers
- Architect, build, and maintain core components and shared libraries that act as a force multiplier for multiple teams within your product area
- Contribute to standards for cross-platform consistency, scalability, and accessibility across front-end experiences
- Serve as a subject matter expert in critical areas like SEO, web performance, networking, or design systems
- Define strategies for leveraging agentic AI tools across multiple teams
- Mentor and guide senior engineers in building AI-native workflows
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
- At least 6 years of professional experience in software engineering
- At least 6 years of experience developing applications using TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web frameworks
- At least 3 years of experience architecting or leading the development of federated front-end or design systems
Preferred qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience with TypeScript and JavaScript
- Proven experience with automated testing frameworks and modular architecture
- Adept at navigating the ever-shifting world of SEO
- Experience leading the design of multi-team components or contributing to shared design systems

Salary:
- Remote (Regardless of Location): $209,000 - $238,500
- McLean, VA: $229,900 - $262,400
