Description
The Technical Lead has overall responsibility for engineering delivery and team leadership across the workstream assigned by the Chief Engineer.
You will deliver and technically assure the solution within agreed quality, cost and schedule constraints, achieving customer acceptance of the solution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical leadership, direction and mentorship across the workstream team
- Ensuring engineering processes meet contracted standards and Leidos corporate governance requirements
- Identifying the skills, people and resources required to deliver the engineering solution
- Defining the engineering practices and resources needed to deliver projects and services in line with company engineering policies
- Leading and managing the effectiveness of engineering activities across the project
- Preparing project-specific technical documentation
- Leading and delivering updates to baseline High-Level Design and Low-Level Design documentation
- Working with Project Managers to prepare technical Work Breakdown Structures, Product Breakdown Structures and resource Bases of Estimate
The ideal candidate will have experience in complex systems integration projects involving Software systems, technical team management, and technical team leadership.

Additional desirable qualifications and experience:
- Experience with Waterfall-Agile hybrid delivery
- Technical management of subcontractors
- Systems Engineering and the principles underpinning the main engineering processes
- Experience of public-sector and sensitive projects
- A background in Software Engineering or IT Systems Integration
- Knowledge of Home Office or MOD organisations, processes and procedures
