Description
We are seeking an Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the planning, operation, and upkeep of all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure at our regional distribution center in Topeka, KS.
The successful candidate will own the health and performance of the facility, driving uptime, throughput, cost efficiency, and risk reduction, while championing a safety-first, reliability-centered maintenance culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading preventive and predictive maintenance, overseeing capital projects, managing vendors, and coordinating emergency repairs
- Analyzing metrics and data to drive continuous improvement, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment effectiveness
- Guiding Maintenance Technicians, Facility Attendants, and CMMS Technicians with clear expectations, accountability, and urgency
- Recruiting, onboarding, and developing talent through coaching, feedback, and training
- Ensuring sanitation and ammonia refrigeration compliance in Food & Beverage operations
- Managing life-cycle planning, contractor quality, and budget performance for OpEx and CapEx
- Balancing multiple priorities, adapting quickly to change, and leading with clarity and confidence
The ideal candidate will have:
- A preferred 4-year degree in a relevant technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and ensure operational continuity
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems and PC applications
- Strong aptitude for leveraging data and technology to improve reliability and efficiency
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Physical ability to access all areas of the distribution center, including mezzanines and freezer environments
