Description
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Market Street Health Group, a large practice in Newham, London. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide quality clinical and administrative support to our nursing team, under the direction of the Senior Nurse Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing professional services to our diverse patient population, using available resources including interpreters to aid effective communication
- Conducting new patient checks, health checks, lifestyle advice, foot checks for diabetic patients, phlebotomy, vaccinations, injections, stitch and clip removals, simple dressings, and ECGs
- Maintaining infection control standards
- Summarising medical records, sending call and recall letters, ordering stocks and supplies, monitoring vaccine stocks, and carrying out other admin duties
- Engaging in ongoing training to learn the skills required for this developing role, including mandatory training relevant to the practice team
Our practice is situated in one of the more deprived areas of London, with a high demand for healthcare services. We have a diverse patient population, with a high representation of under 16s, the elderly, and patients with complex health needs.
Requirements:
- General education to grade C or above, including literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to undergo additional training and development
- Experience of working in a caring role, in a team, and with computers
- Experience of taking blood and working in general practice
