Description
As a Tool Maker at 3M in New Ulm, Minnesota, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world and make an impact by driving continuous improvements in tool builds and repair, providing support for production processes and equipment, and contributing to a team-oriented environment.
The role involves:
- Improving tool builds and repairs, and supporting production processes and equipment, including plastic and rubber injection molding, high-speed stamping, and assembly equipment.
- Providing documented ideas and suggestions to reduce maintenance costs, improve operations, and increase equipment reliability.
- Working safely and observing all 3M safety rules to avoid personal injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company equipment and property.
- Collaborating with colleagues in a supportive, team-oriented manner to achieve work unit, department, plant, and company goals.
Requirements include:
- An associate degree or technical diploma or higher in Machine Tool Technology.
- Five or more years of related work experience building, repairing, or maintaining molds or dies.
- Ability to run all manual tool room equipment safely and efficiently.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Seven or more years of related work experience building, repairing, or maintaining molds or dies.
- Drafting/Modeling experience.
- Mastercam experience.
- CNC milling and/or turning experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
- Ability to lift/carry heavy materials.
