Description
Islington Council is recruiting foster carers to provide a safe and nurturing home for children whose families are in crisis.
Foster carers change lives by providing support to children, helping them grow and develop in discovering their full potential.
You don't have to have children of your own; you can be working or on benefits and it doesn't matter whether you own or rent your home.
To foster with Islington you must:
- Have a spare bedroom if you want to foster children over two years old.
- Be able to take children to and from school to health appointments and to meet their family.
- Be in general good health.
- Be able to speak, read and write English.
- Be available for a child whenever they need you.
- Be committed to attending our training and support groups.
As a foster carer, you will be part of the 'team around the child' working closely with our service and other professionals to give children and you all the support needed.
