Description
As an Installation Specialist at John Lewis & Partners, you'll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service by installing products in customers' homes. You'll work as part of a 2-person delivery crew, driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle, and be responsible for ensuring seamless installations.
Your day will begin at the South Central Customer Delivery Hub, where you'll load up your lorry with the day's deliveries, work alongside the warehouse team, and head out on your route. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing great customer service and being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand
- Loading and unloading your lorry with the warehouse team
- Showing respect and courtesy for customers' homes and handling unexpected situations
- Installing products efficiently and demonstrating how they work
- Keeping up-to-date with new products and technologies
- Maintaining a safe working environment
This role involves heavy lifting, and you'll be required to lift large items such as sofas, white goods, and furniture.
In terms of compensation, you'll receive a salary of £31,500 to £42,500 per annum, depending on your experience. Additionally, you'll be eligible for Evening and Night Premiums, which are £3.25 and £4.25 per hour, respectively.
To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
- Previous installation experience
- Manual C1 UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points
- DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card
- Tachograph Card
- Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Great verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of technology
Desirable skills and experience include:
- Installation and disconnection of white goods
- TV installation
- Assembly of flat packs
The role is permanent, full-time, and requires 41 hours of work per week over 4 days, with varying shift patterns.
