Description

Job Overview

As a Simulation Engineer on the Physical Products team at Helsing, you'll build and maintain modelling and simulation environments to understand how platforms behave aerodynamically, structurally, and in full engagements, before they're built.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain high-fidelity simulation environments, including 6-DOF vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, structural, and engagement-level models
  • Develop Monte Carlo and sensitivity analysis capabilities to explore performance across various conditions
  • Collaborate with GNC, mechanical, and systems engineers to define modelling requirements and validate models against real test and flight data
  • Support design trade studies and build tooling to make simulation faster and more accessible across engineering teams
  • Communicate simulation results and limitations clearly to engineers and decision-makers

Requirements

  • Experience building and maintaining simulation environments for physical systems in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or similar domains
  • Strong understanding of underlying physics, such as flight dynamics, aerodynamics, structures, or controls
  • Proficiency in relevant programming/scientific computing environments like Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or C++
  • Experience validating simulation output against real test or field data
  • Comfortable working with uncertainty, Monte Carlo methods, and sensitivity analysis
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and communicate simulation results clearly

Nice to Have

  • Experience with 6-DOF flight/missile simulation or engagement-level/wargaming simulation
  • Familiarity with CFD, FEA, or other high-fidelity physics-based modelling tools
  • Experience building simulation tooling or infrastructure used by wider engineering teams
  • Exposure to flight test or range test data analysis and model correlation

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and VSOP options
  • Relocation support: up to €2,500 and 4 weeks temporary accommodation
  • Learning: €500/£450 yearly allowance
  • Health & wellness: gym membership and mental health support (Nilo.health)
  • Social: regular company events and monthly social allowances
  • Enhanced parental leave: 22 weeks fully paid for primary caregivers & 6 weeks for secondary caregivers
  • Family support: 5 days of paid family emergency leave, 100% remote work option during pregnancy and phased return to work
  • Hands-on onboarding program
