Description
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Storage Product Platform Development team. As a Platform Engineer, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug system software programs for enhancements and new products for storage systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop products that require in-depth knowledge of device-driver development and Linux internals
- Lead the implementation of platform features of storage arrays
- Bring up and enable new hardware components and develop low-level firmware features
- Design firmware simulation environments, investigate and debug issues, and develop failure analysis tools and processes
- Code and test in C/C++ and Python
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, system management, and network teams
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members
Knowledge and Skills:
- Prior experience bringing up a hardware platform is highly valued
- Experience with performance tuning disk drives, drivers, and memory management for scale
- Knowledge of micro-controllers, SoC, or hardware bring-up
- Strong system programming background with C/C++/Golang for large enterprise-class software
- Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and multi-threaded programming
- In-depth knowledge of OS internals, networking, and storage concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
