As an Engineering Manager, SRE, you will:
- Lead: Hire, coach, and set clear goals for the SRE team.
- Define SLOs: Agree SLOs with service owners and run the error budget policy.
- Own observability: Run the observability platform 24/7 in production, including SLOs and platform alerting.
- Release safely: Build deployment guardrails such as canary rollouts and auto-rollback.
- Build resilience: Detect partner degradation early with synthetic monitoring and vendor scorecards.
- Remove toil: Automate manual incident work, such as recording incident timelines and drafting status updates.
- Fix systemically: Turn post-mortem findings and incident patterns into cross-cutting platform fixes.
- Measure outcomes: Track SLO attainment and member-facing reliability metrics.
- Support: Advise product engineering teams on reliability.
