Description
We are seeking a Technical Writer to work in our Baltimore, Maryland office on a project for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The successful candidate will help document and communicate the modernization of the CMS Contact Center CRM Services (CCCS) platform.
Primary Responsibilities
The Technical Writer will develop and maintain written deliverables, documentation, and communications required to support the CCCS modernization effort. Key responsibilities include:
- Writing, maintaining, and supporting deliverables required under the Deliverables Schedule
- Developing training support materials, release communications, and change management content
- Partnering with the Product Manager, Chief Architect, and Agile delivery teams to capture accurate technical content
- Consulting relevant sources to verify accuracy and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring written content complies with Section 508 accessibility standards and CMS/HHS accessibility policies
- Copyediting and proofreading technical documentation
- Developing and maintaining knowledge base articles, FAQs, and CSR-facing scripting content
- Managing multiple concurrent writing assignments in a fast-paced Agile delivery environment
- Coordinating with graphic designers, trainers, and multimedia specialists
- Supporting development of executive-level briefings, white papers, and presentations
- Maintaining version control and a repository of documentation artifacts
- Working independently and within Agile project teams
- Ensuring documents meet editorial and government specifications
- Communicating documentation status, risks, and dependencies to CMS leadership and Leidos management
- Participating in customer meetings and other events
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in writing, technical writing, journalism, communications, or a closely related discipline
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Ability to capture technical solutions and translate them into clear technical documentation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent writing assignments
- Available to support in-person at Leidos/CMS Windsor Mill, MD office as needed
- Ability to obtain Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to write and edit content to Section 508 compliance standards
- Experience with Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework and methods
- Experience working with Agile project management tools
- Experience supporting CMS or other federal health/human services modernization programs
- Experience writing technical and end-user documentation for CRM or contact center platforms
Pay Range: $41,600.00 - $75,200.00
