Description
We are seeking an experienced VP to join the Japan Compliance Team in the Corporate Bank Business Line pillar. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a regional dynamic team in Japan, grow professionally, and work on global and regional compliance matters.
The successful candidate will provide guidance on applicable regulations, review transactions, manage risk assessments, and design compliance programs. They will work closely with the Corporate Bank business to protect client interests and the bank's reputation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising and supporting the Corporate Bank Business in Japan and APAC on applicable laws and regulations
- Providing constructive and effective check and challenge for adherence to applicable laws and internal policies
- Assessing new business initiatives and transactions for consistency with regulatory requirements
- Ensuring global and local Compliance policies and procedures are reviewed and updated on a timely basis
- Providing support to the Business on cross-border transactions and businesses
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of experience in a banking environment, with knowledge applicable to Corporate Bank risk and control settings
- 5+ years of work experience in the financial industry as a Compliance officer, including experience in Corporate Banking Compliance
- Understanding of New Economy Payments Business and upcoming regulatory licensing in Japan
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows
