We are seeking an HR Business Partner to join our Lyft Solutions Urbaines team in Montreal. As an HR Business Partner, you will be the go-to person for people management and will also act as the head of HR for the Montreal site.

You will translate business priorities into concrete HR plans, help managers navigate complex human issues, and ensure our programs are well-suited to the Quebec context. You will report to the HR Business Partner for our Global Growth team and work closely with various HR teams.

This is a highly operational role for someone who enjoys being close to the action. To succeed, you will need to understand the team's goals, metrics, performance, and opportunities to develop HR strategies that support them.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an HR partner to managers and leaders on team health, performance, development, and retention, providing strategic guidance and support.
  • Assume HR responsibilities for the Montreal site, including relationships with CNESST and OQLF, and management of the program related to the Loi favorisant le développement et la reconnaissance des compétences de la main-d'œuvre.
  • Manage HR cycles autonomously, including performance evaluations, compensation reviews, talent reviews, workforce planning, and organizational health reports.
  • Support employee relations cases with empathy and discretion, collaborating with employee relations and legal teams on complex cases.
  • Support organizational changes, including small team restructures or larger transformations, such as planning, manager preparation, project management, and team communication.
  • Apply Quebec labor laws and practices to Lyft's global programs, identifying areas for local adaptation.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and present recommendations to leaders.
  • Collaborate with finance to track workforce costs, hold leaders accountable, and advise on adjustments to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain a visible and trusted presence on site, particularly among non-office-based teams.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of HR experience, including 2-3 years in an HR business partner or generalist role supporting managers directly.
  • Practical knowledge of Quebec labor laws and experience applying them.
  • Professional proficiency in French and English, written and spoken.
  • Solid experience in managing employee relations, including investigations, performance management, and terminations.
  • Experience working with office-based and hourly employees, including those in frontline or onsite roles.
  • Experience in a company undergoing integration, restructuring, or rapid growth is an asset.
  • Familiarity with HR systems (Workday or equivalent) and using data to inform recommendations.

Benefits:

  • Excellent health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage.
  • Mental health support program.
  • Fertility and family planning support.
  • Pet care benefits.
  • Health spending account (HSA).
  • RRSP contribution options.
  • Flexible paid leave policy, including 15 paid days off for hourly employees and up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave.
