Description
We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our team at AVL Research & Engineering in Istanbul, Turkey.
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing powertrain and vehicle components, including their integration into commercial vehicle platforms. Your tasks will include creating component models, preparing technical drawings, and developing component quality documentation. You will also assess test and simulation results, define next steps, and plan your workflow and that of others to meet specified deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
- Design of powertrain and vehicle components, including their integration into commercial vehicle platforms
- Creation of component models and preparation of technical drawings
- Preparation of component quality documentation, including boundary diagrams, P diagrams, robustness check lists, FMEAs, and test plans
- Assessment of test and simulation results and defining next steps
- Planning and formulating your own workflow and that of others to meet specified deadlines with minimal supervision
- On-site examination of new vehicle builds and/or new powertrain builds for compliance with current design and communication with stakeholders for required design changes
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in system and component design of vehicles and/or powertrains in the automotive industry
- Working experience with Catia V6/V5 CAD tools for at least two years, including technical drawings
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
- Open to frequent travel within Turkey
- Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English; German would be a plus
