Description
Wellington Management, a global investment management firm, is seeking a Director to join the leadership team of its Equity Boutiques in Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Equity investment teams, developing and executing the department's strategic plan, and ensuring the teams have the talent and resources needed to deliver excellent investment performance for clients.
The Director will be a core member of the APAC Investment Platform leadership team, contributing to the development and execution of the APAC Investment Platform's strategic planning. This includes anticipating client and market trends, positioning the Wellington Investment Platform in APAC for sustainable success, and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Capabilities & Talent: Ensure attraction and retention of top investment talent, build diverse and inclusive teams, provide guidance and coaching to investment professionals, and manage succession planning.
- Investment Performance, Integrity & Risk: Promote idea generation and excellent investment performance, ensure portfolios take risks consistent with client expectations and regulatory requirements, and provide risk management and fiduciary oversight.
- Strategic & Execution Oriented Project Management: Collaborate with the APAC Investment Platform leadership team to develop and execute global Equity Boutiques and local APAC investment platform long-term strategy, serve as a change agent for large-scale initiatives, and manage business planning.
- Infrastructure & Support: Ensure the Equity Boutiques platform has necessary infrastructure and support, participate in new product development discussions, and collaborate with key support areas.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience
- Superior organisational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and focus on results
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to articulate and integrate numerous viewpoints
- Ability to navigate stressful situations with poise, focused on being a calming presence
- Prior management experience of investors and/or first-hand investment experience
- Proven experience operating in a highly matrixed, collaborative, and integrated global organisation
- Strong academic credentials: MBA and/or CFA (or equivalent)
