Description
WSP is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to join its Project Services – Project Cost Control group in one of its offices in Terrace, Vancouver, Kelowna, or Victoria.
The successful candidate will play a key part in driving project performance by ensuring integrated tracking of costs, progress, and schedules throughout the project lifecycle. They will work closely with project managers, planners, technical teams, and other members of Project Services to support structured, proactive, and performance-driven decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring project cost control, including budgets, committed costs, and forecast at completion
- Implementing and applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to measure actual project performance
- Analyzing physical progress of work and assessing its impact on costs and schedules
- Preparing and maintaining periodic forecasts in collaboration with project managers
- Producing integrated performance analyses and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Performing variance analysis against baselines and recommending corrective actions
- Supporting change management processes and ensuring quality, consistency, and traceability of project control data
- Collaborating with planners to ensure alignment between cost data and schedules
- Participating in project review meetings and contributing to performance discussions
- Applying WSP project control frameworks, procedures, and best practices
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of tools, methods, and standards within the Cost Control group
- Supporting and collaborating with junior and intermediate Project Control Officers (PCOs)
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in project control or project cost control
- Experience working on engineering projects, preferably in heavy industrial projects
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and its indicators
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Primavera P6, Power BI, InEight, or similar tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
WSP offers a competitive salary range of $89,800 – $118,900 for positions in AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK; $81,900 – $112,800 for positions in MB & ON; and $81,100 – $107,700 for positions in NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC.
