Working as a Starbucks Barista at Target means being part of a team that provides a consistent experience for guests. You will be responsible for creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and organised store environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing a welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and team members
- Preparing handcrafted beverages and food to specifications
- Maintaining a clean and organised store environment, including cleaning and sanitising equipment and workstations
- Managing inventory, including receiving and stocking products
- Supporting team efforts and assisting peers in other areas
- Adjusting to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience
- Upholding and maintaining the execution of Food & Beverage Standards
- Executing food and beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, and inventory accuracy
- Following all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent experience for guests
- Supporting the Starbucks Drive Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
- Maintaining an inviting dining area for guests throughout your shift
- Engaging with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards
- Producing handcrafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards
- Following all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive food items
- Completing and recording all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space
- Locating and identifying damaged, recalled, or expired items and processing according to best practices
- Ensuring accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices
- Following proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory
- Executing sampling best practices
- Completing all required training requirements and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products
- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Working in a safe manner at all times; complying with all safety policies, best practices, and training; reporting hazards and correcting where possible
Requirements:
- Previous Starbucks or food service experience preferred but not required
- Welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
- Access to all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders if needed
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts, and take required meal and rest breaks
- Ability to work in environments that will include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions; where common allergens may also be handled or present
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
