Ground SEIT Engineer (Experienced or Lead)

The Boeing Company, specifically the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) division, is seeking a Ground Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Engineer (Experienced or Lead) to join their team in El Segundo, California or Seal Beach.

The SI&WS GMSE division creates next-generation products and services for the BDS business unit, working with commercial and proprietary customers to develop cutting-edge technologies in space. The team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate mission-focused technologies for various customers, working on all facets of engineering from technology investment to demonstration of products in relevant environments.

As a Ground SEIT Engineer, you will evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces. You will define and develop test requirements, test plans, procedures, and schedules, perform real-time testing and anomaly resolution, lead test execution, data analysis, and preparation of test results to support verification and validation. Additionally, you will lead analyses to optimize the total system of systems and/or system architecture, focusing on affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialty quality factors.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements
• Integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces
• Define and develop test requirements, test plans, procedures, and schedules
• Perform real-time testing and anomaly resolution
• Lead test execution, data analysis, and preparation of test results
• Lead analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
• Lead analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialties quality factors
• Interface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customers

Requirements:

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with an adjudicated CI polygraph or FS
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 5+ years of experience with Systems Engineering processes and principles
• 1+ year of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
• 1+ year of experience performing system integration and test
• Experience creating systems engineering technical documents
• Experience with Ground Systems Engineering
• Willingness to travel occasionally (10%)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 9 or more years of related work experience
• Experience with Command and Control, Mission Management, and Mission Planning software systems for Ground Systems
• Experience with Ground Systems Maintenance and Modernization
• Experience with virtual Ground station hardware
• Experience in software coding and troubleshooting
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Experience working with Government customers

• Pay range: $119,850 - $162,150 (Experienced Level 3), $146,200 - $197,800 (Lead Level 4)
