Description
UNC Medical Center is hiring an Experienced RN for the Pediatric Acute Care Medicine Unit.
The 6 Children's unit is a 24-bed pediatric ward providing acute and intermediate care for patients from newborns to 21 years old. The team has expertise in areas such as seizure management, family teaching, central line catheter care, and pediatric growth and development.
While pediatric experience is preferred, it's not required. Comprehensive training is offered, including pediatric perspectives, to prepare you to deliver high-quality care to this unique patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
- Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and patients
- Assess and prioritize patient care needs
- Develop and implement patient care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Participate in professional growth and development activities
Requirements:
- Graduate of a Board of Nursing-approved nursing education program
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- One year of nursing experience
Job Details:
- 36 hours per week, night shift
- Weekend and holiday rotation
- Flexible self-scheduling
- Salary range: $34.22 - $48.38 per hour
