Working as a General Merchandise Expert at Target means being part of a team that prioritises guest experience while ensuring product availability and efficient operations.
The role involves creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by:
- Greeting guests and making eye contact
- Helping guests find what they need and resolving issues
- Supporting team efforts and assisting peers
- Adjusting to business and guest needs
- Executing daily tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and maintaining the sales floor
Responsibilities include:
- Operating power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures (if certified)
- Learning and executing operational procedures
- Following Target policies and safety procedures
- Supporting guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfilment processes
Requirements:
- Welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Flexibility to work varying hours, days, or shifts
