Description
We are seeking a motivated professional with a strategic mindset and strong risk awareness to join International Card Services at American Express as an Assistant Manager, Product & Governance.
You will support commercial business and specific projects, working closely with stakeholders from Product, Marketing, Control Management, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Internal Audit Group (IAG) to enable protection and responsible, sustainable growth for the business.
Responsibilities:
- Support key projects of business, ORE, and risk assessment of new/existing products, ensuring consideration of operational, compliance, and control risks.
- Identify process improvement opportunities across the business, including potential control gaps and emerging risks, with timely escalation and follow-up.
- Partner with internal stakeholders/cross-function leaders to develop and execute proposals, ensuring alignment with applicable policies, procedures, and control requirements.
- Work with International teams to improve the corporate product suite, enhancing competitive positioning while supporting responsible business growth.
- Monitor portfolio KPIs and operational dynamics to ensure business objectives are met and optimal use of investment dollars.
- Demonstrate a strong risk and control mindset in daily activities, with accountability, sound judgment, and proactive escalation of potential risks or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial card operation, product, and marketing.
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong risk awareness, attention to detail, and ability to identify potential issues and exercise sound judgment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge or experience in the Payment industry and relevant risk and control practices will be an advantage.
- Solution-driven problem solver with strong business sense acumen and business operations in the payments industry to enable business growth while balancing risk and control considerations.
