The Assets Protection Specialist role at Target involves protecting profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud, and ensuring product availability for guests.
Responsibilities:
- Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience
- Support total store sales, guest service, and increase profitability
- Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions
- Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics
- Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues
- Understand and appropriately use video systems to monitor theft activity
- Respond to security incidents and submit documentation
- Promote a physical security and safety culture
- Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches
- Work in a safe manner and comply with safety policies
- Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement
- Participate in legal proceedings as necessary
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
- Effective communication skills
- Work independently and with a team
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
