IOM is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to manage the resources management functions in the Country Office (CO) in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The Senior Finance Associate will provide procedural guidance to managers and staff, supervise and train other finance support staff, and manage financial resources in accordance with IOM rules and regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized advice and support to Project Managers and Chiefs of Mission on financial and administrative matters
- Preparing budget, accounting, financial, and statistical reports
- Managing financial resources, monitoring and controlling assets, reserves, funds, and supplies
- Ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Consolidating data into financial statements and monitoring expenditures
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with five years of relevant professional experience, or a High School diploma with seven years of relevant experience.
Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, attention to detail, and prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions in a multi-cultural setting.
Fluency in English and Greek is required, and knowledge of financial rules and regulations, International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and UN bilateral donor programming is an asset.
