Description
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, you will be responsible for delivering customer orders to their doorsteps. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, completing checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised. You will also communicate with customers, keeping them informed of any delays or changes to their order.
The role involves:
- Delivering groceries to customers on time and in great condition
- Completing checks on the van and ensuring customers' shopping is secure
- Following planned routes and driving safely in various locations
- Moving containers weighing up to 15kg and delivering shopping to properties
- Communicating with customers and dealing with queries or changes to orders
- Helping across the store as needed when not making deliveries
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full UK/EU driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Right to Work eligibility in the UK
- Friendly and welcoming demeanour with enthusiasm for helping customers
- Ability to drive a larger vehicle safely in different locations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical environment
- Initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to make safe decisions
- Flexibility and willingness to work across the store and take on new challenges
