Description
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd in Edinburgh, you will play a crucial role in delivering customer orders directly to their doorsteps. You will be the face of Sainsbury's, providing a thoughtful, friendly, and helpful delivery service.
The role involves driving a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition. You will be responsible for completing checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised, and that customers' shopping is secure before setting off. You will also need to follow planned routes and drive safely in a variety of locations, traffic, weather, and road conditions.
In addition to making deliveries, you will need to communicate effectively with customers, including keeping them informed of any delays, dealing with customer queries, and any changes to their order. When not out making deliveries, you may need to help across the store as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be friendly and welcoming, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and taking pride in providing the best doorstep experience. You will need to be comfortable driving a larger vehicle safely in different locations and working in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment.
