Description
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented.
As a Software Engineer, Growth, you will be part of Notion's Growth team, which accelerates the value Notion provides to an increasing audience of users. You will use a blend of data, qualitative research, and product intuition to drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Build technical foundations that help the broader team and coding agents experiment, build and ship more.
- Drive technical and product vision as an engineering leader within the org, building alignment with other eng teams and cross functionally, bringing clarity to the roadmap.
- Deliver experiments end-to-end, from ideation to analysis, that balance the dimensions of product and the business appropriately.
- Get to know the Notion customer to understand key points in the customer journey and uncover insights that will drive activation and engagement.
Requirements:
- Finding the problems worth solving: You don't wait to be handed a roadmap. You dig into growth data, customer research, and the codebase to find the highest-leverage opportunities, then make the case for them and drive alignment on what to pursue.
- Data and experimentation as a practice: You have Growth Engineering experience at another company, and you've built experimentation into how a team works: defining success criteria, running A/B tests, and turning results into decisions others follow.
- Shipping polished user interfaces: You build fast, well-crafted web experiences with React and modern web technologies, and you know what it takes to keep them working as usage grows.
- Building with AI: You build AI systems that keeps producing after you step away: coding agent workflows that can take on engineering work with the guardrails that let them run effectively.
- Raising the bar for others: You mentor engineers of all tenures, guide them on and technical designs, and share your expertise so it scales past you.
- Pragmatism and impact-orientation: You care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly.
- Putting users first: You think critically about the implications of what you're building, and how it shapes real people's lives.
Nice to haves:
- 10+ years of experience
- A history of strong cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, and/or other non-technical teams
- You've heard of computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, and others, and understand why we're big fans of their work.
We offer highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The estimated base salary range for this role is $272,000 - $320,000 per year.
