Description
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly Ward Team on a flexible bank contract at Spire Bushey Hospital in Hertfordshire.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support registered nurses in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care on the Surgical Ward.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care, monitoring and recording observations, ECGs, phlebotomy, manual handling and general ward support
- Provide exemplary patient care on the surgical ward
- Support and monitor patients, and prepare them for upcoming procedures
- Accurately document patient information and escalate any concerns
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role within a hospital or clinical setting
- Surgical Ward experience is essential
- Private Hospital or NHS Hospital experience is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in: ECGs, taking blood/blood pressures and patient observations
- Confidence in taking basic clinical observations and carrying out phlebotomy procedures
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including weekdays and weekends as required
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or a willingness to work towards this qualification)
