Description
We are seeking a business-minded Legal Counsel to join our team at Trulioo, a global front-runner in digital identity verification. As a Legal Counsel, you will own commercial matters from day one and see the full range of commercial work, including customer, partner, and inbound supplier agreements. You will work across the business, negotiating commercial agreements and partnering with internal stakeholders to progress key deals and enable innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage technology and commercial agreements
- Provide clear, timely, commercially grounded legal advice to internal stakeholders
- Build deep knowledge of Trulioo's products and business models
- Collaborate with teams across Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Product, and Finance
- Make decisions independently within agreed risk thresholds
- Improve contract templates, playbooks, and workflows
- Stay current on technology, SaaS, privacy, and commercial contracting developments
Requirements:
- LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent)
- Good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia, or with another Canadian law society
- 3-5 years of post-qualification legal experience
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for technology or SaaS businesses
- Strong working knowledge of technology contracting issues
- Practical fluency with AI-powered legal and productivity tools
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting commercial transactions in a high-growth environment
- Knowledge and experience with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), PIPEDA, and comparable privacy regimes
