WSP is seeking a Traffic Management Center Technician I to join our Mobility Operations Team in Nashville, TN. This role involves monitoring and operating Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices, managing traffic incidents, coordinating responses to roadway concerns, and performing database entries for incidents and activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide human monitoring and operation of ITS devices and take appropriate actions based on guidance from SOPs.
- Manage traffic incidents and coordinate responses to roadway concerns.
- Perform database entry for incidents, special events, roadway concerns, and call logs.
- Assist in traffic data collection and troubleshooting using manual and automated data collection features.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and document device failures, and issue work orders for repairs.
- Respond to notices of roadwork, highway incidents, and special event information.
- Answer phone inquiries and coordinate responses with operational partners.
- Respond to inquiries about TMC/ITS operations as directed by the State.
Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- 0-2 years of experience with a TMC type facility and/or traffic management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with co-workers and TDOT staff.
- Familiarity with digital roadway maps and roadway elements.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
