Description
At Cecconi's Dumbo, you will collaborate with the Pastry Chef to create, craft, and develop simple yet memorable desserts, pastries, or other sweet goods as a Pastry Cook.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare delicious, house-made pastries, following recipes, and contribute creatively in a fast-paced environment.
- Support the Pastry Chef with inventory, purchasing, and ensuring optimal kitchen performance.
- Supervise Pastry Cooks, including onboarding and training.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and implement compliance with company procedures.
- Provide precise attention to detail in creating à la carte dishes.
- Support the Pastry Chef with end-of-shift reports and handover sheets.
- Maintain company target goals and consistent experience for Soho House Standards.
- Be a positive influence on teams under pressure.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in a fast-paced, upscale environment.
- Strong understanding of making pastry dishes from scratch.
- Proven ability to execute all menu items and prepare top-quality dishes.
- Food handler's certificate.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work varied shifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Ability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast-paced movements and ability to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
