We are seeking a passionate, driven, and energetic subject matter expert to help develop our long-term power advisory capability as part of our continued expansion.
As a Power Market Analyst, you will support the development of analysis that will form the basis of our advisory work. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in Power analysis and forecasting to play a leading role in the development of new services and to position themselves as a market expert in an area that is vital to the development of our business.
The role involves shaping and delivering consultancy advisory work for clients in the power sector, including price and market due diligence, regulatory response, and investment support engagements. You will develop and continuously improve fundamental power market models, maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across the power industry, and identify and quantify key market risks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shaping and delivering consultancy advisory work for clients in the power sector
- Developing and improving fundamental power market models
- Maintaining current knowledge of major drivers and trends across the power industry
- Supporting client-facing deliverables
- Taking ownership of specific market segments
- Building a strong understanding of other Argus Generation Fuel services, data, and capabilities
- Working with stakeholders across other Argus teams
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level (2.1 or above) from a leading university
- Strong understanding of Power markets, how they operate, and key market trends, gained through 3-5+ years in the industry
- Highly numerate with experience analysing comprehensive datasets quickly and meticulously
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
