Description
We are seeking a full-time Polish Interpreter & Translator to join our team at Millennium Translations Ltd, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing interpretation and translation services in various settings, including mental health, healthcare, and legal sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret verbal communications in real-time into Polish, with careful attention to context, meaning, tone, and technical wording.
- Translate documents, including scientific, legal, and literary texts, ensuring the original meaning is conveyed accurately.
- Attend booked assignments, driving to and from locations as required.
- Maintain high standards of professional behaviour, confidentiality, and adhere to the Interpreter Code of Conduct.
- Work on community engagement and outreach projects.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Polish, with cultural competence in both languages.
- Full UK driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Current, valid Enhanced CRB clearance.
- Minimum of one year's professional experience as an interpreter, with references to verify.
- Minimum of 200 hours previous experience working as an Interpreter, ideally within the public sector.
- Qualifications in interpreting, translation, or linguistics (MA, BA, DPSI, Community Interpreting Certificate).
