Description
Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to work on their Databases SRE team. The role involves building and operating systems, writing software and automation changes, and being on call for high-SLA customers.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of software engineering experience, strong production software skills, and experience with distributed systems, multi-tenant systems, and SLOs.
Responsibilities:
- Build reliability into the product
- Build automation and platform tooling
- Lead technical design
- Own the SLO framework
- Improve observability and alerting
- Be on call for high-SLA customers
- Handle operational work
- Multiply the team
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong production software skills
- Experience with distributed systems
- Experience with multi-tenant systems
- Experience with SLOs
- Experience being on call for production systems
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope, Prometheus
- Open-source contributions
- Customer reliability engineering experience
