Description
We are seeking a motivated Release Engineer to join our Release team in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina. You will work in close partnership with our core engineering team in Belgrade, Serbia, and globally distributed Cisco R&D centers to improve software project infrastructure and product quality for Cisco Silicon One™ architecture.
Your Impact:
- Oversee the software release lifecycle, ensuring that software products are delivered efficiently, on time, and within scope.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage the technical complexities of software releases by blending software development expertise and release coordination.
- Act as a primary contact point between technical teams and stakeholders, providing regular updates on release status, issues, and resolutions.
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing release processes and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implementing automation to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE and 5+ years of related experience; OR Masters with 3+ years of related experience.
- Prior experience with software development, QA automation, or release engineering.
- Experience coding in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, C++, Java or similar language.
- Experience using Jira or other bug-tracking and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with system integration and CI/CD tools.
- Experience working within cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Data analytics skills and experience tracking release metrics.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
