Description
We are looking for a Data & AI Engineer Intern to join our team in Paris.
fifty-five is a new kind of data company that helps brands exploit data to improve marketing, media, and customer experience through a combination of specialised consulting services and technology. As a data and marketing pillar of the Brandtech Group, we offer services that combine strategic consulting, cloud services, media consulting, and customer experience.
Our team develops and maintains advanced analysis infrastructures for our marketing measurement projects. We are currently investing in integrating the latest developments in Google's open-source technologies (including the MMM Meridian framework and its major v2.0 update) and industrialising our pipelines to move from technical monitoring to reliable, robust, and directly exploitable tools for our teams.
As our technical scout, you will accelerate the adoption of this new ecosystem:
- Exploration & Reverse-Engineering: In-depth audit of the Google Meridian v2.0 open-source codebase, identifying breaking changes and optimisation opportunities.
- Prototyping & Sandbox: Design test scripts and PoCs in Python to validate the execution of new models.
- Data Integration: Connection and feeding of test pipelines from our BigQuery environments.
- Documentation & Feedback: Technical popularisation and transmission of integration best practices to the team.
You will intensively use cutting-edge GenAI tools (including Claude Code and the Model Context Protocol - MCP architecture) as daily accelerators - a standard expected for this position. Your goal is to explore the potential of these tools to audit complex codebases in record time: automatic dependency mapping, generation of compatibility bridges (shims/wrappers), creation of unit tests, and accelerated technical documentation.
Depending on the team's needs, you may also be required to work on the broader structuring of our BigQuery tables and optimising massive data queries.
At the end of your internship, you will have learned to dissect an industrial-scale open-source framework, design development workflows augmented by AI (Claude Code + MCP), manipulate complex data volumes on BigQuery, and have concrete experience of applied R&D within a Data team.
Requirements
- Engineering school, computer science, or equivalent master's degree (BAC+4/+5).
- Excellent mastery of Python development.
- Strong database and SQL manipulation skills.
- Advanced and reflective use of AI code assistants in local or CLI environments (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot), marked interest in contextual extension protocols (MCP), and practical experience with vibe coding workflows.
- Mastery of software engineering fundamentals and versioning (Git).
- No prior knowledge of Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) or advanced statistics is required.
- Curious, autonomous profile, able to explore a raw codebase and formulate clear recommendations.
- Fluent French and English (documentation and codebases exclusively in English).
- You are authorised to work in France.
- Experience with BigQuery or Google Cloud Platform is a significant asset.
- Practical experience with AI agent workflows is a plus.
- Familiarity with LangGraph or LangChain is a plus.
- A GitHub link with personal projects demonstrating your coding or automation practice is a plus.
Benefits
- 200 employees in Paris and over 320 worldwide.
- Multicultural environment with over 20 nationalities.
