Description
Airwallex is looking for a Head of Product Design to lead its global team of product designers and leaders across Australia, the UK, the US, and Singapore.
The successful candidate will have exceptional product taste and attention to detail, and the ability to scale it across the organization. This role carries real organizational authority, including a seat on the Global Leadership Team, ownership of the product design budget, and a design organization that is a peer to product management and engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a global team of 40+ product designers across all product verticals: Spend Management, Business Accounts, Payments, Billing, Platform, Growth, and Design Systems.
- Continue to scale the product design organization's practice, quality standards, systems, and culture globally.
- Hire, develop, and retain a world-class design team, and expand the SF-based design studio.
- Work closely with the CPO to share the product experience strategy.
- Own the design budget end-to-end: contractors, tooling, learning, research, travel, and team building.
- Steward the design organization's three operating principles and evolve them as the team grows.
Requirements:
- Exceptional product and UX judgment from strategy to the finest grain of the work.
- A world-class hirer with a track record of personally attracting, closing, and calibrating exceptional designers and design leaders.
- Comfort with complexity, having worked in fintech or a comparably complex product domain.
- Leadership at scale, having managed senior design leaders across regions and timezones.
- Executive fluency, comfortable operating in company-level planning cycles.

Compensation:
- $269K – $385K
