Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Dry Room Operator at our 3M plant in Newark, DE.
As a Dry Room Operator, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up the wet end of the foam line for production runs, maintaining run parameters, recording substrate lot numbers and run times, and handling chemical waste in accordance with all applicable federal and local environmental laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up the wet end of the foam line for production runs in accordance with formulation specifications and production orders.
- Set up chemical modules, assemble mix heads, calibrate chemical streams, and assist in mounting substrates.
- Maintain all run parameters during foam casting at the wet end, making changes as instructed by process chemists or line leaders.
- Record substrate lot numbers and run times.
- Handle chemical waste in accordance with all applicable federal and local environmental laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- High school degree or GED from a certified education institution.
- Minimum of 1 year or less of experience in production.
- Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with chemicals.
- Moderate PC skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated effective cross-functional teamwork among internal businesses.
- Previous forklift truck and hoist experience.
- Solid interpersonal skills with strong math skills.
- Must be able to multi-task.
