Description
We're looking for a Software Engineer to build software that makes network operations safe, scalable, and efficient as we launch new data centers and expand rapidly. You'll develop tooling and services that sit between the network core and the cloud platform, using open-source solutions where applicable and building missing pieces as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain services and tooling for automating the network lifecycle, including day-0 provisioning, day-N changes, drift detection, and operational verification.
- Ensure network changes are safe and transparent through CI/CD workflows, diff/review tooling, staged rollouts/rollbacks, audit trails, and guardrails.
- Create observability systems that scale across many sites, focusing on telemetry pipelines, signal quality, and tooling for shorter incident investigations.
- Bridge gaps between the network and platform by integrating source-of-truth data, exposing APIs, and building reliable automation around it.
- Collaborate closely with network engineers and SREs to turn operational challenges into high-quality tooling.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical background.
- Strong coding skills and ownership mindset, with the ability to ship and operate reliable services.
- Proficiency in Go or willingness to learn; Python is also welcome.
- Interest in infrastructure and/or networking, though deep expertise is not required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Background in networking or strong interest and proven ability to learn quickly.
- Experience with automation/infra tooling, such as CI/CD, IaC, testing/staging environments, or 'network-as-code' workflows.
- Low-level networking/datapath experience with technologies like eBPF/XDP, DPDK, kernel networking, or traffic processing systems.
- Experience designing high-load services and observability platforms.
- Contributions to open-source projects or experience extending/debugging OSS components in production environments.
Engineers at Nebius are expected to:
- Manage large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Break down complex tasks and guide their own work and that of junior colleagues.
- Be experts in specific technologies and write high-quality code.
- Assess task priority and focus on high-impact work.
- Have strong architectural thinking and contribute to system design.
- Be involved in hiring and contribute to interviews.
- Share knowledge and mentor others.
Benefits & Perks:
- Competitive compensation.
- Career growth and learning opportunities.
- Flexibility and ownership.
- Collaborative and innovative culture.
- Opportunity to work on impactful AI projects.
- International environment and talented teams.
