Description
Leidos is seeking a Lead Distribution Engineer in Framingham, MA, who is passionate about electric utility design engineering. The successful candidate will lead electrical distribution work packages, perform engineering design and analysis, and ensure high-quality work. The role involves working directly with clients, interacting with internal teams, and spending 3 days a week in the office and 2 days working remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of electrical distribution work packages
- Perform engineering design and analysis
- Conduct QA/QC tasks on assigned team
- Review engineering design packages with clients
- Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence
- Interact directly with clients on a frequent basis
- Provide engineering support during construction
- Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
- Assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
- Work in both field and office settings
- Play a role in the hiring process for the future of the team
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience working on electric distribution projects
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET-accredited institution
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- Experience with engineering design quality control
- Familiarity with Pole Loading software and distribution pole analysis
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle
- Valid U.S. driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous QA/QC experience
- Experience providing estimated costs and development of a BOM
- Demonstrated history of customer interaction
- Proficiency with STORMS software and GIS
- Prior leadership experience
