Description
We are looking for an Assistant Vice President - Service Engineer to join our team at Barclays TESCO Bank in Bengaluru.
As a Service Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting applications end-to-end, enhancing capabilities, and delivering continuous improvement of core banking platforms.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems
- Ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technology
- Implementing software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response
- Collaborating with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements
- Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations
Key skills and experience required for this role:
- Experience in Application Support & Service Delivery, leading and providing end-to-end L2/L3 support for core banking applications
- Hands-on proficiency in containerisation, including Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
- Experience with end-to-end CI/CD automation using Gitlab, Jenkins, and Nexus
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Experience working within regulated financial services environments
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Technical skills required:
- AWS, GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Nexus, Python or PowerShell or any scripting language, Windows/RHEL
- Good-to-have skills: Datadog, Snyk or SonarQube, ServiceNow/JIRA/Confluence, Java, Safe Agile, Knowledge Fiserv suite of applications
