Description
Leidos Homeland Group is seeking a dynamic Material Handler in Chesapeake, VA. The role involves completing parts packaging according to specialized requirements, fabricating shipping labels, coordinating special shipping needs, and maintaining accurate shipping records.
The Material Handler will provide daily shipping and billing summaries to program administration, perform periodic inventory checks, and update shipping information in the FAA's Logistics Information System (LIS).
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing inventory to meet customer demand and minimize costs
- Coordinating the movement of goods and resources
- Implementing and managing logistics systems
- Controlling the acquisition, storage, and distribution of materials
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements
- Overseeing warehousing operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience. They must be able to lift 40 pounds, have previous warehouse experience, and demonstrate self-motivation.
Required skills include operating a forklift, general computer skills, FedEx On-Site Power Ship experience, Microsoft Access experience, knowledge of OSHA standards, and inventory control and management.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency with computer database systems and Microsoft Office products.
