Description
You will be a Senior Platform Engineer at Synopsys, a leading provider of engineering solutions from silicon to systems. Your role will involve designing and maintaining robust web applications and internal tools using Angular or React, Node.js/NestJS, and Python to support engineering workflows at scale.
You will architect and implement hybrid infrastructure solutions spanning on-prem data centers and public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, and GCP) with reliability and security as default outcomes. Additionally, you will build and evolve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms to standardize builds, testing, releases, and deployment automation.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Developing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to enable repeatable provisioning, eliminate drift, and improve auditability across environments.
- Deploying, operating, and optimizing Kubernetes platforms (AKS, EKS, GKE, and self-managed clusters), including upgrades, capacity planning, and incident response.
- Automating provisioning and operational workflows with Python, Bash, or PowerShell to reduce manual toil and improve platform consistency.
- Implementing observability and reliability practices, metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting,so issues are detected early and resolved with clear operational insight.
The impact you will have includes:
- Enabling development teams to ship changes faster and more confidently because delivery workflows are automated, consistent, and resilient.
- Reducing operational incidents and time-to-recovery by improving platform reliability, observability, and repeatable remediation patterns.
- Turning infrastructure provisioning into a self-service, auditable capability that scales across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Keeping Kubernetes platforms stable and efficient across providers through better standardization, capacity management, and operational hygiene.
- Improving security and compliance outcomes by embedding governance, identity controls, and secure defaults directly into platform and delivery practices.
- Lowering total cost of ownership by eliminating manual toil, reducing drift and rework, and optimizing resource usage without sacrificing performance.
- Increasing engineering productivity by identifying and applying AI-assisted automation opportunities that remove friction from everyday development and operations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Platform Engineering, or closely related roles supporting production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure and AWS, including core compute, networking, identity, and security fundamentals.
- Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform across cloud and/or on-prem environments.
- Strong Kubernetes experience (AKS and/or EKS), including deployment, upgrades, troubleshooting, and operating containerized workloads at scale.
- CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance experience using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tooling, along with automation skills in Python and/or PowerShell.
- Differentiating experience with modern observability practices (metrics, logs, traces) using OpenTelemetry and tools like Prometheus/Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Elastic, Datadog, or New Relic, and familiarity with GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux) or AI-assisted operations is a plus.
The team you will be part of is a small, high-impact team of four that is expected to grow, distributed across India, Europe, and the US. The team’s mission is to support and modernize legacy cloud applications while preparing the platform for emerging requirements in agentic AI and service marketplace capabilities.
