Priory Hospital Roehampton has an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join its team on the CAMHS ward. Located in South West London, Priory Hospital Roehampton offers specialised support for young people with eating disorders. As Priory's first hospital site, it has been in continuous operation since its opening in 1872.
In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and treatment planning.
- Acting as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Leading psychiatric assessments, supporting admissions, and providing specialist clinical input to the multidisciplinary team.
- Contributing to clinical governance, service development, and strategic planning to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, contributing to training programmes, and maintaining CPD and revalidation requirements.
- Participating in the on-call rota and providing cover across satellite sites when required.
Essential qualifications and skills include:
- MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification)
- CCT (or equivalent)
- GMC Specialist Register
- Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
- Clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the speciality
- Ability to work within and lead a team
- Commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
