DWS, a publicly listed asset management division of Deutsche Bank, is seeking an Assistant Vice President for its AFC & Compliance Team (Data Analytics & Monitoring) in Mumbai, India.
The team provides business line support throughout the organisation, promoting and enforcing adherence with laws, regulations, rules, and expectations of regulators. The AFC & Compliance Data Analytics & Monitoring team supports these objectives by providing operational assurance and support to key control areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead Compliance Calibration and Effectiveness control effectiveness reviews across the full review lifecycle
- Evaluate and determine control effectiveness through rigorous assessment of relevant risks, control purpose, design, implementation, and underlying rationale
- Define and undertake proportionate control assessment, including determining the purpose, scope, evidential requirements, and testing and analytical approaches
- Apply a proactive and solutions-focused approach to resolving review matters
- Lead review-related stakeholder engagement and develop robust, evidence-based review outcomes
Requirements:
- Relevant professional experience in compliance, risk, audit, or another related oversight or assurance function
- Strong understanding of control frameworks and assurance principles
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of independence and take ownership of complex topics
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Nice to Have:
- Financial services experience and knowledge of trade surveillance, market abuse, or conduct risks
- Working knowledge of Excel or comparable data-analysis tools
- Degree or relevant professional qualification in compliance, risk, audit, law, accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline
