Description
WSP is seeking a Thermal Generations Project Manager for their Overland Park, KS; Houston, TX; and Phoenix, AZ offices.
As a Project Manager, you will provide situational administrative and technical project management guidance for the development, execution, management, and monitoring of designated projects. You will ensure responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle are adhered to, delivered, and audited with a level of quality that meets or exceeds corporate project excellence and delivery standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing PM leadership for larger scale/more complex projects
- Developing and fostering effective strategies to engage project stakeholders
- Providing guidance with pursuit/initiation activities for projects
- Participating in the technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings
- Mentoring staff to support their growth and professional development
- Managing and providing performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff
- Ensuring updates occur with system and process documentation
- Facilitating project kick-off meetings with key stakeholders
- Coordinating with area/technical managers to address project resource and subcontracting requirements
- Maintaining regular communications with the client
- Participating in and overseeing problem project reviews
- Ensuring regular project reporting and updates are provided to clients, technical areas, and business unit managers
- Monitoring accounts receivable and unbilled revenue
- Completing formal project closeout activities
- Remaining current in the latest Project Management techniques and practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major
- 12+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role
- Highly proficient understanding of project delivery process within the A/E/C industry
- Advanced proficiency with analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen
- Advanced proficiency with critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency with interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to changing priorities
- Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members
- Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products, technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
- Essential project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP-M)
